In 2005 the estimated value 
of this sector (UK consumer market only) was £86 million. It is a relatively concentrated market in terms of brand share with the clear market leader being Hozelock Cyprio (40%-45% market share), a UK based company that has made significant inroads into the continental market as well. The next largest supplier is the German company Gardena with an estimated 15% market share, followed by Rehau (5% share).
Other brands with national distribution include Aquapore / Moisture Master (a FISKARS company brand), Toro (an American brand better know for its lawn mowers in the UK but it is a gold course maintenance specialist as well and therefore has skills in this sector), Draper Tools Ltd., Rain Bird, Netafim, Naandan, Nelson and Hunter.
Far Eastern manufacturers are beginning to gain share either as OEM or wholesale suppliers.
